Established in 1919, the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LUHS) in Lithuania takes pride in being the largest educational institution specializing in biomedical sciences in the country. Initially known as the Medical Academy of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, LUHS evolved into the "Faculty of Medicine" of the University of Lithuania over time.

In 2010, a significant merger occurred between the Lithuanian Veterinary Academy and Kaunas University of Medicine, leading to the establishment of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences. This public university currently accommodates over 6,000 students, both domestic and international, with international students accounting for 20% of the total student population.

The university attracts a diverse student body from 76 countries, including Germany, Israel, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Sweden, and others. The teaching staff at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences comprises more than 1,000 professionals, including Lecturers, PhD Professionals, Professors, Assistants, and Associate Professors.
